How much noise can 24-30 children aged 5-8 possibly make? Well, come and join us for a game of Ladders in Junior Friday Club and you will be amazed at how much sound they can achieve.
We started the year with stories about Jesus, went on to Daniel and then in September we did the Joseph stories. Each story was accompanied by an appropriate activity – from donkey games, to hunting letters, to boxes with sweets for mum. The children love doing craft and are very responsive when we sit with one leader to approx 5 children around a table. Amazing what conversations we have at those times.
In the summer we have our annual BBQ (shared with the older clubs and parents), we have various games and a bouncy castle/obstacle course. At the end of the evening we presented Bibles to those who are leaving us to go on to either the older club or to Cubs.
As I think we say each year, it is a very concentrated hour but very rewarding and great fun. We are privileged to have the opportunity to share with these children the knowledge that Jesus loves them and wants them to enjoy life to the full.
