Mothering Sunday (on a Friday!)
On Friday 4th March we played host to staff and children from Clare Primary School for their Mothering Sunday service. Though technically two days early, there were many songs, poems and prayers giving thanks to mums (and others) who look after us, with many of them in attendance up on the balcony. It was great to have the church decorated with all the pictures that the children had made and the washing lines were the cause of many appreciative comments from parents, staff and church members over the following days. Not only did we have a raucous time in church, each child took home a small posy of flowers as our gift to their mums, dads, grandparents, anyone special.
Our thanks to Mrs Simpson, Mrs Brown and Mrs Campbell and the rest of the staff for co-ordinating the service and making sure that the children arrived safely and went away happy. Thanks also to several of our ladies who spent the Friday morning bunching up the posies to give away. Finally, thanks to all the children for taking part with so much gusto!
